What the heck will I do with a typewriter?
Great question! Check out the project page or our Instagram for a few examples of what people have done. They can also be used to get out of a writing rut or compose some snail mail like thank you notes from your Etsy store.
Why rent?
You can definitely buy a typewriter still. If you’re going to use it often enough, that’s the best way to go! Renting allows you to see if it’s something you like, and what machine you may want to get in the future.
If I like the one I rent, can I buy it?
Yup! It’s a rent to own scenario, and we are keeping the cost pretty low for each machine.
Are all your machines super pretty and restored?
Nope! We purchase every machine used and do a light cleaning, but our big focus is on how they work. Most typewriters were built like tanks and last a long time. We are offering ones that will type well so you can communicate in a new way.
